MELINDA SAUNDERS has been creating art for over 40 years, both in her professional career as a Graphic Artist and as an illustrator and Designer. In my early 20s I was successful at pastel portraiture of both people and animals mainly pets. I then moved in to painting fabric apparel in the early 80s featuring many native Australian animals and scenes when it first became popular and featured on Neighbors. I am also a photographer and have an eye for composition, which is reflected in my paintings.
Talented and skilled in drawing, sketching, digital art, textile design, illustration, Charcoal and Soft Pastel, Acrylic and Watercolour. After a forced retirement I have honed my craft in painting/art once again as a form of art therapy. I consider myself to have a diverse range of techiques and styles and love developing and delving into different ways to create, even dabbling in sculpture.
Considered to be very talented at portraiture, pet/animal portraiture, I am learning that I can paint using impressionistic style or intricate detailed photo realism.
Mostly self taught, she has demonstrated a good eye for colour and movement, and her talent for reproducing what is seen through composition and light and shade. My career as a successful Graphic Designer has given me many years of education on the commercialisation of art and the digital influence. |
