Even though I have been a creator in various forms before corporate life got in the way, I had a love of writing, and a passion for photography and enjoyed ceramics & painting.
In 2020 during the infamous Victorian lockdowns, I picked up brushes and paint and found an old joy. To my surprise, I found painting relaxing and a real mindset saver during the lockdowns.
My husband and I would sit in the garden or in our patio and paint, sometimes in silence and sometimes chatting as we unwound from the day. Interestingly, through various family members, I have since found out my grandmother was an avid watercolour & charcoal artist.
Where we live, we are so fortunate and back onto a beautiful vista that showers us with nature, bird life, changing weather, sunrises, and sunsets. Often, depending on the weather, we have easels set up in our enclosed patio area. This area looks out onto the vista which enjoys great sunlight and some fabulous breezes in summer along with inspiration for bush artworks.
Otherwise, you can find me painting in my affectionately known "little art shed".
The local area is my inspiration for art inspired by nature.
Since 2020 I have attended many online courses with local and international artists. These courses along with painting daily have been wonderful.
I attended formal art classes for 12 months covering various mediums including acrylics, watercolour, pastels, pen and wash, graphite pencil and sketching.
These courses have helped me to explore and develop my love of painting and sketching further than I had ever imagined. I strive to progress and learn new techniques and mediums, I continue to take courses, attend summits and connect with fellow artists.
My artwork is available as originals, and selected pieces as prints.
